3 Ways to Immerse Yourself in Botanicals This Summer

As the summer months heat up, I want to give you a few ideas of how you can really immerse yourself in the botanicals this summer.

Oh, summer! It is one of my favorite seasons of the year not only because my b[earth]day season is during this time but there are many other reasons why summer is a great time to study plants.

The sun is out for a longer period of time which gives you more hours to do certain things like hiking and plant walks. This can be done on an educational level to learn more about plants or it could be for therapeutic purposes; and a mixture of both, why not while you're there! Unwind your mind, relax, and get some grounding in and really connect with Earth.

Another way is to make formulations! The Herbal Academy has a book called Botanical Skin Care Recipes which is full of different formulations that you can do in the comfort of your home. This will not only give you the satisfaction of making things at home but will also help to level up your summer glow!

Lastly, you can combine that wellness and skincare tip with cosmic infusions. The sun and its warmth bring in this masculine energy and that can be utilized to really stir up formulation making so you can infuse certain formulas that you make with the sun and other cosmic objects.

It’s a simple process, commonly found in folk herbal formulations and can be achieved by leaving things out by the window. Personally, I love leaving my tinctures up on the windowsill and you can also leave them outside, granted they are covered and in a heat-safe container.

The sun, according to medical astrology, correlates to the body's overall vitality. In connection with plants, it really stirs up and intensifies the chemical qualities in an herbal formula. It’s similar to how cayenne really warms up and gets things going on, in regards to the nutrients the phytonutrients in plants.

That's how the Sun acts on an energetic level.
