Holistic remedies have been available for thousands of years and we're constantly evolving and improving techniques as time progresses. Combining techniques, like the ones iterated in this post, can increase the rate at which one overcomes illness, especially during the cold and flu season
Facial Steams

Practiced all over the world in various indigenous cultures, facial steams are a versatile and effective way of opening the air passageways when need be.
To practice, sit over a pot of water that has just finished boiling. Drape yourself with a towel to encase the steam around you. Take deep breaths while under the towel and remain there for 5-10 minutes.
Steam alone can be used, or you may add herbs into the pot. By adding the herbs, it releases chemical compounds (i.e. volatile oils) which have a therapeutic effect on the body.
Eucalyptus, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme are fragrant herbs with their own respectable herbal actions (i.e. expectorant, antiviral).
Healing Frequency Music

Sound being employed in healing techniques has been around since ancient Egypt. Modern-day science has found certain frequencies to have various effects on the body, both physically and emotionally. They may increase focus, reduce stress levels, and promote relaxation.
They are easily found online, or you can create a physical space of healing with instruments such as drums, the harp, gongs, and Schuman resonance tongs.
Herbal Infused Honey

There's a reason why we call her the Queen Bee! Bee products such as honey and propolis have tremendous effects on the human body. Just as bees use propolis to protect their hives from invaders, honey and honey-related products like propolis offer the same effects inside our bodies. A group of scientists at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research found propolis to have antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antitumoral, and immunologic activities in the body, especially for the upper respiratory system.
It's not necessary to use all of the healing modalities you know of when ill. However, being knowledgeable of different techniques can open a conversation with your health care provider to create an effective protocol for you!
